Episode 64: Squares

http://www.spartacusroosevelt.com/podcastmp3/SpartacusRooseveltPodcast06.64.7.mp3
This turned out to be a really great show. The rights and clearances process is still kicking my ass, but this show turned out great.
Look out for some major changes to the website. Reviews, interviews and discussion boards are on the horizon.

Episode 63: Put Jellybeans in it

http://www.spartacusroosevelt.com/podcastmp3/SpartacusRooseveltPodcast06.63.6.mp3
I really had a great time with this show. The Tim Hecker might be my favorite track. The whole new Tim Hecker CD might be the best of the year. The opening quote is only meant to advocate wide eyed innocence in the face of decadence.

Episode 61: Burnt Motherboards and Stolen Laptops

http://www.spartacusroosevelt.com/podcastmp3/SpartacusRooseveltPodcast06.61.5.mp3
This has been some sort of week. The moment I uploaded the last show the motherboard onmy production machine reached a toaster-like level. I fought with the tattered husks of older computers and after about a week I finally got it running, only after deciding to trash my ATI card with the most unstable driver EVAH.
Then Monday morning my laptop bag got stolen from my truck at the gym, getting my laptop, portable hard drive (arghhhh!!), digital camera, a bunch of specialty cables, my belkin iPod FM transmitter, my toolkit, my cellphone, my wallet..... sigh.

If you are subscribed to both the regular feed and the featured track feed, you will probably want to unsubscribe from one of them. The featured track feed, which is dead, made it into the iTunes directory, where the regular show feed never did. So I am going to mirror the regular feed and sneak in iTunes by the back door.

http://www.spartacusroosevelt.com/podcastmp3/SpartacusRooseveltPodcast06.58.4.mp3
So I did post production on this show late at night after an on the road weekend. I am surprised it is even sort of coherent. But I think that its a great show and hopefully I will fall into my one-a-week rhythm again.
I got a great review from the Upon Further Review podcast. The opening bit is a cut from that. They question my music(?)al tastes, but in general like the show. Gave me an 8 out of 10. More about that in the post show.

I really love the tracks this week. I like when the third set goes all jazzy with Baikonour and Nostalgia 77, I love the Turkish psychedelic track (there are many volumes of Love Peace and Poetry if you are into that sort of thing, collecting hippie rock from all over the world), and the big long heavy Mono track just makes my day.

Episode 50: Missed Deadlines and Lame Excuses

OFFLINE
Show 50 is up and now it is all downhill to 100. I don't know if I can keep these coming out weekly right now, as sometimes permission takes longer to get than I expect. I create the show first, then seek out permission as to keep the integrity of the show, so it takes longer than if I just started picking tracks I was approved for.

This week I pimp out the Vegas Vic Tiki Lounge (link removed, malware) Podcast, for the Martin Denny lovers out there.
Somebody and I guess it was one of my Brit listeners (have you put a pin in the Frappr Map?) sent me some MP3s and the Working for a Nuclear Free City track was one of them I really liked. I went to their MySpace and they have several strong tracks there that I know some of you would really dig.
