I was delaying until the new site was ready to go, but taking care of the migration issues of old stuff to the new site is facing issues. So here is a new episode. An excellent one if you ask me. More about migration issues and compromises at the end.

Moving comments over is not going to work great. XOOPS does not talk to other systems well at all. I am going to basically C+P all of the old comments to each post and go from there. Forum posts will be added to each post as a comment. We will see from there.
The site looks good. Now just to get infrastructure fixed.
Thanks for listening.

I am about to do a total rework of the site. It will include listener blogs and a forum and hopefully it will be a meeting place for listeners.

Episode 100: I Will Not Celebrate Meaningless Milestones

http://www.spartacusroosevelt.com/podcastmp3/SpartacusRooseveltPodcast08.100.2.mp3
Episode 100....
When Show 1 went live in June 2005 I had no idea if I was going to do this for three months. I always thought that I had the potential to have the most popular music show around. I know its a crazy idea but I always thought that this show just needs to be heard to be appreciated. To a degree I was right, if the right people hear the show, they love it. I underestimated the number of people who were searching for something besides 90s college rock derivatives, but for the 300-400 of you that download every show I think I push the right buttons. Thank you for joining me in this trip through new sounds.

I don't have the time to invest in it as I want to, but that is probably a good thing. Big Ups and much apprec to Mr. Mariner of the Clocktower on Edloe Island for being willing to host the occasion.

Episode 95: Theses and Dogme

http://www.spartacusroosevelt.com/podcastmp3/SpartacusRooseveltPodcast08.95.6.mp3
Strange show this week. After a traditional (for me anyway) start, it takes a pretty fuzzy and ambiguous turn. Short set list, primarily because of a few very long songs.

I am preparing for show 100. There will be a 100th show celebration in Second Life at the Edloe Island Clock Tower, a surreal steampunkish location (shout out to Crap Mariner for the location). If you would like to send a bumper or shout out for the 100th show please do. Skype me at spartacusroosevelt. If you aren't in SL, you can open a free account and show up. I will be putting up a link that will take you directly there soon. Go ahead and get SL downloaded and get your avatar customized so you will be ready to go.
Don't forget the forum post for this show and thanks to Guy David for recommending the clock tower.

Episode 90: Folque Concrete

http://www.spartacusroosevelt.com/podcastmp3/SpartacusRooseveltPodcast008.90.4.mp3
This episode started very heavy in the electronic acts and as clearances did or did not come in it evolved, with more freak rock and folk acts clearing their tracks and it took on a very different sound, like a hippie AM station and video games playing in the next room.

Mitch Joel played my comment about how I hate mass marketing but I am beginning to appreciate niche marketing on the latest episode of Six Pixels of Separation. I welcome the folks giving the show a taste from there.
The show finishes this week with a promo for SOBCon 2008 that JC Hutchins sent me. If you are looking to take your blog to the next level, this seems to be right up your alley.
As always feel free to Skype me at spartacusroosevelt and leave a message on the forum thread for this show.

http://www.spartacusroosevelt.com/podcastmp3/SpartacusRooseveltPodcast008.87.2.mp3
I have said many times that this show was started after I participated in the Metafilter MeFiSwap, where you make mix CDs for people and send them through the mail. This week, show listener Panoptican gave me a front page post at MeFi. I have been a MeFi member for years now and a lot of people that I respect online are frequent posters and commenters. I have seen a real bump in stats and that post has only been up a few hours at this writing. I was elated to see it.
