I get 4 times the number of downloads of old shows each month than I do of new downloads, so if this is an issue for you and you like them in the feed, email me.

Episode 181: Young Men, the Weight on Their Shoulders

http://www.spartacusroosevelt.com/podcastmp3/SpartacusRooseveltPodcast15.181.2.mp3
In 2005, I heard about this thing called podcasting. I had been making mix CDs for total strangers as part of the MefiSwap on Metafilter. This seemed like a great way to mass release my kind of mayhem on an unsuspecting public. Well after 10 years of growth, I still only get about 500 downloads of every new show each month and about 2000 from the archives every month. And I still love doing it despite there only being a few hundred people in the world liking what I am doing. About half of you are from the US, with about a quarter of my downloads coming from Germany and the UK. Besides the isolated download or two from Down Under, Japan, and coastal China, most of the remaining quarter is from Eastern Europe. Over the decade I have had downloads from six of seven continents (McMurdo, where are you?) and made friends with some amazing listeners. Thank you for not letting me be alone in this.
