Episode 55: Hagar-rific!!

http://www.spartacusroosevelt.com/podcastmp3/SpartacusRooseveltPodcast06.55.4.mp3
This week I start with a blurb where C.C. Chapman of Accident Hash explains why his show will always have approximately 250 times the number of listeners mine has.

I really love the tracks this week. I like when the third set goes all jazzy with Baikonour and Nostalgia 77, I love the Turkish psychedelic track (there are many volumes of Love Peace and Poetry if you are into that sort of thing, collecting hippie rock from all over the world), and the big long heavy Mono track just makes my day.

The Featured Track this week is "Dr C" by Alias and Tarsier. The track is from their new CD Brookland/Oaklyn on Anticon. A great review of this CD may be found at Pitchfork. Alias and Tarsier also have a MySpace, as does Anticon.

Episode 54: Zappa-esque?

OK this show doesn't really sound like Zappa. It is pretty full on and less subtle than usual though and I think that is why I get that Zappa vibe. Pretty over the top stuff.

Some really great tracks on here. If you a triphop sort of person, that Alias and Tarsier CD is the best release of the year. Be sure to check out the Bob Thompson links. He has some amazing records and a great released CD.

This week's Spartacus Roosevelt Featured Track is "Auto-Rickshaw" by Caural from the Remembering Today CD. He has several releases available and can be contacted via his MySpace or through Mush Records.

Don't forget to add me to you MySpace, along with adding all the bands and labels. Let them know you heard them on the Spartacus Roosevelt Hour.

This week's episode of the Spartacus Roosevelt Featured Track puts the spotlight on Port Royal. They are a very shoegazer like band with a great blend of guitar textures and electronics. You may find them at their website and their MySpace. They have an excellent CD called Flares, which is the source for this week's track. The track is called "Zobione Pt. 2," edited here for time. Find out more about the Spartacus Roosevelt Featured Track here.
